Johnnie Washington

Johnnie Mae Washington, daughter of Annie and Sam Fort, was born December 11, 1941 in Birmingham, Alabama.  Johnnie attended Parker High School. Johnnie was employed with Methodist Hospital as a unit secretary on 3 South, the baby unit, for 40 years. Johnnie loved cooking and sitting in her chair watching TV.  Johnnie was a wonderful mother, wife, sister, grandmother, and friend who showed much love to everyone she came in contact with.  Johnnie Mae Washington professed her faith in Christ at an early age at 46th Street Baptist Church.  She later joined McClendon Tabernacle. Johnnie a.k.a. “Hooda” will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.  Johnnie was preceded in death by her father and mother, Annie and Sam Fort; son, Anthony Washington; sisters, Carolyn and Betty; brother, Larry Fort.  Ms. Johnnie Mae Washington departed this life on Monday, June 24th, 2019 at her residence at the age of 77 years, 6 months, 1 week, and 6 days.  Johnnie leaves to cherish her memory, four children, Kendra Petty, Sharon Jackson, Lafonda Washington, and Matthew Jackson; grandkids, Brandi White, Brianna Lewis, Leah Petty, Christopher Washington, Brandon Washington, Ashley Jackson, Brandi Washington, and Adam Washington; great grandkids, Andre White Jr., My’Ell Brisco, Christopher Washington Jr., Christina Washington, Chrishawn Washington, Christian Washington, Brayden Washington, Terrion Washington, Anizha Washington, and Adam Washington Jr.; sisters, Barbara Burns, Sheila Pleasant, Brenda Hudson and Rosalind Johnson; brothers, Richard Fort, Trent Fort, Robert Fort, and Darryl Fort (California).  Brothers all Birmingham, Alabama.  Sisters in Indiana are Barbara Burns and Rosalind Johnson. The other sisters live in Birmingham Alabama.
