Jimmie Edwards, 82, of Indianapolis, departed this life on October 28, 2018. Jimmie was born on June 15, 1936 in Opelika, Alabama to Charles E. and Luella Edwards, both preceded him in death. Jimmie previously worked as a Printer for the Daily News in Alabama. He retired in 1998 from Indianapolis Public Schools where he was employed as a mechanic and bus driver. Jimmie loved to spend time with his family, loved to eat fish, pig feet and black-eyed peas. He loved to listen to James Brown, the Blues, Jazz and Gospel Music. Jimmie was a no non-sense type of man who spoke his mind. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family and was a proud father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all.
Jimmie is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife Frances Edwards; brother, John T. Edwards; son, Reginald Walker; and step-son, Isaac Gibson Jr.
Jimmie is survived by his sons, Anthony Edwards, Donald Kirk, Kenny Hill, Terry (Carla) Edwards, Jeffrey Edwards and Jimmie (Kelly) Edwards Jr.; daughters, Tonya Bridgewater, Felecia (Calvin) Garrett, Jetona (Tony) Guthrie, Tracy Gibson and Tina Edwards; step-daughters, Myra Gibson and Deborah Robinson.
