Delois Sharp

               

Delois Sharp passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, in Indianapolis, IN. She was born on October 16, 1946 in Memphis, TN, to the late Joe Nathan and Romelia (Cunningham) Grandberry.

Delois worked for Franklin Township Schools from 1981 to 1999 as a bus monitor and kindergarten aid. In 1999, she became disabled and left on disability.  She was a member of Pathway Missionary Baptist Church, where she was on the Usher Board and she was the president of the Deaconess Board. She sang in the choir and was a tutor for students in the after-school program at the church. She also worked with the youth program at the church.

She loved being on her computer, keeping in contact with her friends and the teachers she worked with at school.  She loved to go to church when she could, always reading her Bible, and let’s not forget going with the Golden Girls on trips. She loved to travel with her Golden Girls.

Delois is survived by her daughters, Vivian Mallory of Memphis, TN, and Kim McGee of Indianapolis, IN; grandsons, David Mallory, Trevon McGee, Derrick, Jeremiah, Delmon Alexander, and DeJuan Brown; sisters, Gladys of Indianapolis, Dianne of Indianapolis, Anette of Memphis, TN, Lynn, Murlean, Arlean of Memphis, Barbra Jean of Memphis, and Ruby of Memphis; brothers, Levonne, Tom, Gibson Gleen, and Eddie of Memphis, TN.  She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Delois was preceded in death by her parents, her late husband Raymond Mallory, and her brothers Alvin, Willie Joe, and Levi.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Pathway Missionary Baptist Church, 3017 N. Shriver Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46208. A memorial service will take place immediately following the visitation at 12:00 p.m. Reverend Walter Mays and Pastor Anglo White Sr. will be officiating.
