Laura Lee Spicer, 62, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. Laura was born March 12, 1955 at Home Hospital in Lafayette to Wilma D. and the late Joseph J. Carrel. She lived the majority of her life in Lafayette. She was a 1973 graduate of Jefferson High School and later earned an associate degree in Nursing from Ivy Tech. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph J. Carrel, Sr. and her second husband, Steven Spicer. She is survived by her mother, Wilma (Dee) Carrel, Lafayette, brothers Joseph Jr. (wife Kathy) of Greenwood, Indiana and Mark (wife Heather) of Westfield, Indiana, one son, Tom Sattler (wife Heather) and two grandchildren, Aiden and Ella Sattler, of Lafayette. The family will hold a private Celebration of Life service.
