Margaret Josephine Hall

Margaret Josephine Hall was born November 15, 1926 in Indianapolis, IN to Charles and Hazel Woodson Brents.  Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husband Pythian Hall, son Larry N. Hall and brothers Charles, Jr. Frederick and Donald.

Margaret was united in marriage with Pythian Hall on April 5, 1941.  From this union there were 3 children, Myrna (Hawkins) Hall, Larry Hall and Melvin Hall.

Margaret accepted Christ at an early age at Irvington First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School until her transfer to Riverside Park United Christian Church, where she was an active member. Her ministry was to the homeless and sick and shut-in where she was known as the "bread lady".  Margaret loved to bake, and she would distribute small loves of banana, herb, strawberry and zucchini bread.  She would share her recipes with friends, neighbors and family members, especially with her "buddy", sister-in-law, Audrey Brents.  As Margaret's health declined,  her new church family, The Abundant Church lifted her up with their visits, cards and prayers.

Margaret worked at Crossroads Rehabilitation Center for 18 1/2 years as a quality control technician, who rarely missed a day of work despite the weather nor having her own transportation.

Margaret enjoyed jazz from her favorites Oscar Peterson, Erroll Gardner and Lionel Hampton to name a few.  She would play her music loud while she cleaned house or whipped up a batch of chocolate brownies, or lemon squares.  And lest not forget her love of all kinds of fish,. On Friday she would enjoy fish, coleslaw, jalapeno cornbread muffins and a cold diet Pepsi.  This is what she, considered being rich!  Her favorite saying was "What's the use in being rich and living like you're poor".

Margaret Josephine Hall, affectionally known by many as Pottsie Jo” departed this life on Wednesday, January 10, 2017 at the age of 91 years old.  She leaves to cherish her memory a brother Norman Brents (Sylvia), Springfield, OH, sister, Marilyn Clemmons, Accokee, MD, 11 grandchildren, 29 great grand-children, 36 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
